  • Headline: A beginner's french class in which we will cover roughly what is covered in a French 1 high school course.
  • Description: This course will be an introduction into the French language. Our classes will be every wednesday night and will last for two hours.
    
    The material covered in this class, will be roughly the same what is covered in a French 1 & 2 classes in high school. You do NOT need any prior experience in French for this course. Some materials that will be covered during this course are: greetings, the three types of regular verbs, basic irregular verbs, conjugation in the present tense, conjugation in the past tense, the near future tense, adjective agreement, future tense, conditional tense, the present subjective, and imperfect tense. We will also discuss a good deal of vocabulary. Read the description of each session for more details about what is taught during each one.
    
    Since French, like any language, needs to be practiced in order to be mastered, you will be given some assignments to complete between sessions. This will be explained in more detail during the class, but nothing you are asked to do will be that challenging, compared to the average french course.
    
    For this course, you will need a notebook, and a folder. The notebook will be needed for taking notes during the sessions of the course, and the folder will be needed to keep handouts that you will be asked to print out and read. You will also need a computer with a microphone (or an external microphone) so I can hear you ask questions and do other activities.
    
    To teach, I use PowerPoint presentations so that I can show you how to spell and write French vocabulary. I also find that people learn better and find it easier to pay attention if someone they have something visual to look to, rather than just trying to follow a person lecturing.
    
    This course may be somewhat challenging, but it will be an incredibly rewarding experience because, you will learn the basics and much more of the French language, which will pave the way for you to master it. I hope to see you in my classroom!
